Urban Design Guidelines

The Docklands Authority is striving to for the highest possible standard of finish and design in all aspects of the built environment throughout Docklands. It is anticipated that the promotion of good urban design with a unified concept will result in a vibrant, lively personality unique to the Docklands area.

The purpose of these guidelines is to create a recognisable style urban design while promoting high standards of diverse, flexible and sustainable design.

Docklands Fact

300 years ago there were no houses in the Docklands with the exception of the small fishing hamlet of Ringsend. Most of the land was underwater with the occasional watchtower, customs outpost and pilgrimage hospice along the waterfront.
