Christmas Never Had it So Good in Docklands
Whether it's a traditional Christmas outing you fancy or something a little different, there's a whole lot to choose from down by the riverside.
For a traditional German Style Christmas, the Docklands Christmas Market at George's Dock in the IFSC is filled with brightly decorated wooden huts and chalets selling an array of unique gifts, including beautiful decorations, hand-made arts and crafts, and other unusual stocking fillers. From 11am daily, the Docklands plays host to almost one hundred traders from Germany along with plenty of home grown Irish stalls. Or just enjoy the fresh aroma of roasted nuts and raisins, Gluhein wine and take in the brilliant hues of the German candy stalls. By night, shoppers are entertained by story tellers, carol singers and bands playing seasonal tunes - all under the watchful eye of Santa Claus himself.
If you've had enough shopping and haven't had enough of the icy conditions, hop on the Luas to Point Square and glide across the brand new ice rink at the Point Village or spin to dizzy heights on the Revolver observation wheel - 10am - 10pm.
Over the River at Grand Canal Square, take a break from the traditional Panto and catch Scrooge at the Grand Canal Theatre starring the legendary Tommy Steele. Tickets are priced from €20 and are available from Ticketmaster with matinee performance on selected dates. You might have missed out on tickets for The Kings of Leon at The O2 but tickets are still available for Lulu and Anastacia, Here Come The Girls on December 12th, Elton John and Ray Cooper on the 15th, Shakira on the 16th and Meatloaf on the 18th.
