Community Training Workshop

The Project
In 1999 the Docklands Authority provided a purpose built community training workshop at a cost of €1.7 million designed to house the facilities and equipment for a wide variety of courses.

How it Works
This permanent facility, located in North Wall, was opened by An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, TD. Its primary objective is to improve the skill set of the local community, be it employment related skills or personal development skills.

The Right Result
The success of the Docklands Community Training Workshop highlights the importance of providing a physical location where the local community can develop their own courses and training programmes. In this particular workshop Docklanders regularly attend courses in a variety of skills including Computers, Painting & Decorating; Office Skills and Sewing and Dress Design.
