Young Pirates Invited to Docklands Maritime Festival
Pirates, young and old, are invited to spruce themselves up, don their best eye patch and headscarf and visit Dublin’s Docklands this Bank Holiday Weekend to be in with a chance of winning the Best Dressed Pirate Competition! Organised by Walt Disney Pictures and the Docklands Authority to celebrate the release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MANS CHEST, the competition is open to all those dressing as their favourite Pirates of the Caribbean character. There are plenty of exciting prizes up for grabs, including a family ticket to the Irish premiere of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MANS CHEST, limited edition merchandise prizes and cinema tickets.
There are three categories in the competition:
- Best Dressed Jack Sparrow
- Best Dressed Davy Jones
- Best dressed Elizabeth Swann
All would be pirates must register their entry at the official PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MANS CHEST stand between 2 and 4pm this Sunday, 4th June. All entries will receive a gift (subject to availability).
The movie opens in cinemas nationwide on 6th July.
This year’s Docklands Maritime Festival has plenty for pirates young and old to enjoy, including entertainment for all the family, including the appearance of all three Irish tall ships together for the first time since the Waterford Tall Ships in 2005.
Along with the Tall Ships, a spectacular array of maritime related street theatre, musical entertainment and other interesting acts from Ireland and beyond is planned for this year’s Festival all creating a thrilling carnival atmosphere.
