Set sail for Docklands!

Dublin's thriving Docklands area will be the place to be this June Bank Holiday weekend, with the fourth annual Docklands Maritime Festival running from 1st to 4th June 2007.

With over 55,000 visitors flocking to last year's Festival, this year's event has been extended to offer even more attractions for all the family. A spectacular fleet of Tall Ships, including the Mercedes, Atlantis, Thalassa, Prince William as well of two of Ireland's jewels, the Jeanie Johnson and the Asgard, will be open to the public, offering visitors the chance to experience life at sea.

Along with the breathtaking Tall Ships, Waterford-based arts group, Spraoi, are planning a spectacular array of maritime related street theatre, musical entertainment and other interesting acts from around the world all creating a thrilling carnival atmosphere.

A full schedule outlining all the exciting activities and entertainment on offer for all ages will be published in the next few weeks. Dublin's river tour service, the Liffey Voyage, will also be in operation offering relaxing cruises along the river.

The Festival will also feature Dublin's largest outdoor market, offering committed shopaholics the chance to buy a fabulous selection of crafts, clothing, jewellery, flowers and plants, as well as mouth-watering gourmet meats, cheeses and breads.
