Closing date announced for tickets for music festival at Dublin's Docklands

Analog, Grand Canal Square, Docklands
Friday 13th July - Sunday 15th July

Music fans who wish to attend the forthcoming Analog music festival at Dublin’s Docklands are being reminded to sign up for tickets before the closing date of 3rd July.  The festival, which will take place at the newly opened Grand Canal Square in Docklands, runs from 13th to 15th July.  Tickets, which are free, can be obtained by registering on www.analogconcerts.ie

Analog is a weekend of live performances celebrating creativity in contemporary music.  From congotronics to no-wave guitar noise the series offers a journey through live music and sound.   A total of 2,000 tickets for each day will be given to randomly selected applicants.

A uniquely modern and urban music event in Ireland’s summer calendar, Analog promises Congolese trance music, minimal electronica from Berlin, the soundscapes of the acclaimed The Cinematic Orchestra and broken beats from DJ Food. The event  is completed by a performance of Glenn Branca’s transpormative Hallucination City: Symphony for 100 Guitars directed by the composer. The performance will be performed by 100 guitarists specifically recruited in Dublin for the event.

Analog will take place on the spectacular Martha Schwartz-designed Grand Canal Square overlooking Grand Canal Dock in Dublin’s Docklands. Analog is part of the Docklands Authority’s Down at the Docklands programme, which includes a variety of events and attractions at Docklands throughout the summer months.

The busy schedule of activity puts Dublin’s Docklands firmly on the map as the hottest summer event destination in town, with a wide range of entertainment, cultural activities and amusements planned. The programme works to animate public spaces in the Docklands – from the quays of the River Liffey to the platform at George’s Dock to the newest space on the south side of the river, the spectacular Martha Schwarz-designed Grand Canal Square.
