Luas update:Connolly and Busaras temporary closure
When will Connolly and Busáras Stops temporarily close?
Connolly and Busáras Stops will be closed on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th January 2009. Abbey Street Stop will be the terminus for Luas Red Line services on these dates. Services on Friday 16th January will operate as normal until 00.30am on Saturday morning.
Why will Connolly and Busáras Stops be closed?
Connolly and Busáras Stops will be closed on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th January 2009 to facilitate the construction of Luas Docklands Line C1 extension to The Point. The trackworks for this extension started in 2008. In order to further progress these works, it is necessary to temporarily close Connolly and Busáras Luas Stops
When will Connolly and Busáras Luas Stops be re-opened?
Connolly and Busáras Stops are due to re-open at 05:30am on Monday 19th January 2009.
Apart from Connolly and Busáras Luas Stops, how will the rest of the Luas operate?
The temporary closure of Connolly and Busáras Stops will not affect the rest of the Luas Red Line and will not affect the Luas Green Line. Operating times, frequency of trams and fares will not be affected.
How do I get to Connolly Station?
Connolly station is approximately 10 minutes walk from Abbey Street Stop.
How do I get to Tara Street Station?
If you are accessing DART services, Tara Street Station is approximately 6 minutes walk from Abbey Street Stop. I want to get from Heuston to Connolly and I don't want to walk from Abbey Street to Connolly.
As an alternative to walking from Abbey Street Stop to Connolly Station we suggest you use Dublin Bus services.
What ticket do I buy?
Whether you are buying a ticket to Abbey Street, Busáras or Connolly Stops, you are buying a ticket to Central Zone 1. Therefore, you should continue to buy your normal ticket. The temporary closure will have no affect on fares.
Smartcard users; don't forget to TAG OFF.
I have an Irish Rail Ticket with City Centre Add On, how do I get to the City Centre?
Your Irish Rail Ticket with City Centre Add On is valid for travel to the City Centre with either Luas or Dublin Bus. You can use the Dublin Bus Feeder bus No. 90 for free with your ticket.
