| Description:
"This weeks Bootcamp lived up to its mission statement. The content and delivery of each of the workshops were of the highest quality. I have come away with knowledge, skills and confidence and a large network of like minded friends" "I found the Career Bootcamp to be hugely beneficial. It was great to meet with other people who are in a similar situation and it was an extremely positive experience. Every session was presented by highly qualified, knowledgeable, enthusiastic individuals. The event was exceptionally motivating and inspiring." Caroline Kehoe This was just some of the feedback from last year's Career Bootcamp at National College of Ireland in association with IrishJobs.ie, The Sunday Times and 98fm. We are delighted to announce that Career Bootcamp 2 (The sequel!) is now confirmed! National College of Ireland will be hosting Career Bootcamp from the 16th to 21st of August 2010. Career Bootcamp is a week long series of free seminars and workshops to give practical help in the current employment market and real skills to cope with the new rules of job search. If you are unemployed, have been made redundant or are facing career uncertainty then this week will be of interest. The rules of job searching are changing. If you have been out of the market for a long time you will benefit from updating your job hunting skills. The week will also give hugely beneficial advice on how to access the hidden jobs market. Leading experts will give practical sessions on career management and job searching. The week will kick off in high tempo with Rowan Manahan author of "Where's My Oasis? telling us how to get the edge in the new world of job search. Monday afternoon will see Brian McIvor a management skills training specialist host an interactive session looking at career and job detection and how to deal with the opportunity of redundancy. Peter Cosgrove from CPL will give a session on how to get the most from recruitment agencies and Mark O'Donnell from Deloitte will give us the inside track on how HR managers hire and what they are looking for. Later in the week John Fitzgerald Career Coach on RTE Series "Rising after Redundancy" will share a proven six step system to create new career opportunities. There will also be a session on CV preparation, application forms and cover letters from Sinead English and a session on your rights in redundancy from Dermot Casserly of Beauchamps Solicitors. The online world is of course also vital and is covered by award winning brand engagement, digital marketing and social media author mentor and commentator Krishna De. Krishna will be hosting a fascinating session on nurturing your online network and how things like blogs, online video and social networks including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook can help and hinder your job search. Krishna promises you will walk away with an action plan you can implement immediately. There will also be CV clinics and interview workshops which will give you the opportunity to do a mock interview and get feedback on how you did. If your CV is getting you nowhere or the thought of an interview sends you into a blind panic then these sessions are invaluable. Towards the end of the week we will also be hosting a networking event where job seekers will share experiences and contacts to help fellow attendees. You can come and meet people who may have similar experiences to your own and might be able to offer some advice in an informal setting. The event is FREE and no prior registration is required. Simply come to NCI ,Mayor Square IFSC D1. Last year many people attended all sessions but you are free to choose the sessions you will benefit most from. NCI is 5 mins from Busaras and Connolly Station and is served by the red line Luas (NCI/Mayor Square stop). For further information see www.ncirl.ie or call us on 1850 221 721.
