Description:

The first "Green" shipment of Wine to Arrive in Ireland.

Chosen from select award-winning vineyards in South of France, wine bottles will be transported aboard the 108 year old Kathleen & May schooner to reduce the carbon footprint of the wine - each bottle will save 4.9oz of co2 emissions and will be labelled "Carried by sailing ship, a better deal for the planet".
We want to help tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions as this is one of the biggest challenges we face today. W are offering great wines at competitive prices, people will be free to act in a greener way.

The wine will be sailed on board the Kathleen and May from the Summer Maritime Festival in Brest where 2008 vessels will celebrate maritime sailing traditions. More than 12,000 bottles will make the journey aboard the schooner.

O'Briens Fine Wine and Gilbeys of Ireland are the first importers to take advantage of this innovative transportation and reduce their carbon footprint. Hegarty #3 will be exclusively available throughout all O'Briens off-licences. Gilbeys of Ireland will be importing and distributing exclusively the award winning Borie de Maurel estate wines - distribution and pricing info available from Gilbeys - contact Lynne Coyle 01 429 2200.
