Draft Poolbeg Planning Scheme
A tender for lead planning consultancy services is now available on etenders at, http://www.etenders.gov.ie/ , for the preparation of a new Draft Planning Scheme for the Poolbeg peninsula.
This follows an independent review by planning consultants, Brady Shipman Martin (BSM), commissioned by the Executive Board of the Docklands Authority, which determined that the Draft Planning Scheme for Poolbeg prepared in 2008 was not adequately robust for submission to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government.
Update March 2012 - The Authority's Statement of Strategy submitted to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government in July 2011 pointed to the development potential for Docklands North Lotts and the Grand Canal Dock areas. Given the changed economic conditions and the maturity of the current Master Plan and Planning Schemes, a review has been commenced to identify and scope amendments, if required, to the to existing planning schemes in operation in the Docklands.
Preparation of a new draft planning scheme for the Poolbeg peninsula commenced in 2011 with a tender advertised for lead planning consultancy services. The phasing of the delivery of amendments and the new Planning Schemes is to be decided on completion of the review project in the coming months.
