Docklands Gears up for Talent Showcase
Dublin’s Docklands will be alive with the sound of music this Monday, 7th February at 4.30pm, as auditions for the fourth annual Docklands Talent Showcase get underway at the Clarion Hotel.
The competition is open to anyone aged 17 years and upwards, living or working in the Docklands area, with a talent and passion for singing, dancing, juggling or playing a musical instrument. Applications to take part in the Showcase are available from the Docklands Authority office at Custom House Quay.
The overall winner of the Docklands Talent Showcase will receive a holiday voucher worth €1,200 along with a trophy. Last year almost 100 budding stars entered the competition with a variety of acts ranging from traditional Eastern European folk music to contemporary dance.
The competition is organised by The Docklands Authority as part of its Social Regeneration Programme and produced by RTE’s Kevin Hough. Gerry Kelly, Director of Social Regeneration at the Docklands Authority, commented: “The Showcase is a great opportunity to highlight the huge wealth of talent in the community and we encourage Docklands residents to enter or simply support those who are participating.”
The final heat of the Docklands Talent Showcase takes place in the Abbey Theatre on Sunday, 6th March.
