Docklands Gears up for Seniors Talent Showcase
Auditions take place Monday 20th October, Jury's Inn, Custom House Quay
Dublin's Docklands are set to come alive with the sound of music this Monday, 20th October from 2pm, as auditions for the annual Docklands Seniors Talent Showcase get underway at Jury's Inn on Custom House Quay.
The competition is open to anyone aged 55 years and upwards, living or working in the Docklands area, with a talent and passion for singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument. Entry forms are available from the Docklands Authority (Tel. 01 818 3300) or on www.dublindocklands.ie
The overall winner of the Seniors Talent Showcase will receive a holiday voucher worth €1,000. The talented finalists will perform before a star studded panel of judges including Larry Gogan, Aonghus McAnally, Geraldine Plunkett and Sandy Kelly at a special invitation only ceremony on Sunday 16th November, presented by former Republic of Ireland International player and Chairman of Sunderland F.C Niall Quinn. Renowned singer Rebecca Storm will also be there on the night to perform at the interval.
The competition is organised by the Docklands Authority as part of its Social Regeneration Programme. Gerry Kelly, Director of Social Regeneration at the Docklands Authority, said, "We have a wealth of talent in Docklands and the Seniors Talent Showcase is a wonderful opportunity to share it with the community."
