The Paulaner Oktoberfest makes a return to Dublins Docklands
It's the event everyone aspires to get to, and now it's coming to Dublin, again! Get set to experience the world famous German Oktoberfest, which is running at the Dublin Docklands from 8th - 18th October 2009. Visited by over 70,000 people last year, The Dublin Paulaner Oktoberfest is now one of the highlights of the Autumn calendar.
For the second year running, the original Paulaner Oktoberfest will come from Germany to Dublin, giving Irish people the chance to experience the authentic Oktoberfest. A marquee - representative of that in the Munich Oktoberfest, German markets, as well as over 24 Munich barmaids will descend on Georges Dock for some German fun, food, entertainment and authentic Bavarian beer. Visitors to the Paulaner Oktoberfest will enjoy the sounds of Bavarian brass and dance music from the German group, Mostland Stürmer.
The traditional German market will feature over thirty German speciality food producers and German traders, who are all travelling to Dublin for the Paulaner Oktoberfest. Visitors will be introduced to the very best of Bavarian food and specialities from sausages, meat, pastries, Käsealm (German mountain cheese) to German candy and ginger bread hearts. Alongside the many delicious foods on offer, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Paulaner, a truly authentic Bavarian style wheat beer and one of only six beers permitted to exhibit at Munich's legendary Oktoberfest.
Both Paulaner and Paulaner Non Alcoholic will be available, as well as the special Oktoberfest brew, all of which can be paired to a range of foods at the Paulaner Oktoberfest. Not only is Paulaner the ideal choice for Oktoberfest celebrations, it is also a beer that complements a range of Irish and international foods. The 5.5% ABV beer contains a large proportion of malted wheat in addition to the barley malt. The wheat generates a wonderful effervescent, frothy head on the beer.
The original Bavarian Oktoberfest is almost 200 years old and has been held in Munich, Germany since 1810. As one of the most famous festivals in the world, it attracts over six million people each year.
